Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool manager fined 8,000 by FA for misconduct during Merseyside derby celebration
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been fined 8,000 by the Football Association and warned about his future conduct.Klopp had already accepted a misconduct charge for his reaction to the Reds’ dramatic winner in the Merseyside derby where ran onto the pitch to celebrateDivock Origi’s injury-time winnerwith goalkeeper Alisson.Klopp entered the playing field before the final whistle was blown3

He was charged by the Football Association on Monday, and had until 6pm on Thursday to respond. However, on Tuesday,Klopp accepted the charge.“Absolutely OK, to be honest. I couldn’t avoid it obviously, but that’s what the rules are for, and if you break rules you have to be fined for it,” he said.“That’s what happened, no problem with that, it’s completely normal.“The last time I did it was around 14 years ago. I’m not that quick any more. It will be fine.” Asked whether he would do it again, considering the circumstances and emotion a derby brings, he added: “Not in the next 14 years!“I didn’t want to do it and I can say it won’t happen again. It was not on my radar that it was still possible.“We make mistakes, but usually I learn from it. At least over a long period.“It’s not a massive mistake. If there was no rule against it we, as managers, would constantly celebrate on the pitch and you would say ‘that’s nice’ (and) the whole bench would run there.“I don’t think anybody thought it’s massively wrong or whatever, not even the ref, they were probably surprised themselves.“There’s nothing to say actually. It’s a fine, I pay it. Let’s carry on.”Klopp couldn’t contain his jubilation at Liverpool’s late goal against Everton3

Klopp said after the match he had apologised to Marco Silva, the Everton manager, though that claim was shot down by his opposite number. No, he didnt apologise to me, Silva insisted.Former West Brom captain Jonas Olsson was critical of Klopp’s actions after Origi’s goal, which came following a horrendous error from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. The ex-Premier League star said: If Id been an Everton player, Id have knocked him down, I think.Pickford kept the ball in play and all but set Origi up for an open goal3

You cant do that when a player has made such a mistake it is so disrespectful.I think Klopp is really fun, but I do not think it this time. Some notable managers have come out in support, with Steven Gerrard echoing the statements of Brendan Rodgers and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. The Merseyside derby victory ensured Liverpool remain just two points behind league leaders Manchester City.Klopp’s side travel to Burnley tomorrow evening before visiting Bournemouth for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
