The 34-year-old said: “I’ve had fans, away fans, singing about my illness.“Derogatory and chanting stuff, whole sections of away fans to do with an illness I had.“My family have had to sit there and experience that. I’ve had to restrain myself.” His comments come days after the alleged racist abuse Manchester City and England star Raheem Sterling suffered at Chelsea.The fan in question denied he used any racist language, though did offer an apology to Sterling for the words used.On Saturday, two fans in Scotland were arrested by police for allegedly directing racial abuse at Motherwell player Christian Mbulu during his side’s 1-0 defeat at Hearts.
