Rangers captain James Tavernier was also attacked by a Hibernian fan on Friday.Grealish, Smalling and Tavernier were unharmed as all three supporters were arrested and banned for life by their respective clubs.But former Newcastle and England star Shearer believes punishments such as points deductions and playing behind closed doors would deter fans from pitch invading.It is absolutely disgusting and if we dont stamp it out now, next time it could be a knife,” he wrote in The Sun.

It is the third time a fan has managed to get on the pitch.What if they are carrying something? Players will be at danger.It is definitely something the FA, Premier League and FIFA need to look at. Maybe extra stewarding, something has to be done.
